Dr. Sanchez-Sotelo practices as consultant in the department of orthopaedic Surgery at Mayo Clinic. He is also appointed as professor at Mayo College of Medicine. He serves as division chair of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, and Medical Director for communications and marketing for the department of OrthopedicSurgery. He has been presented the Mayo Clinic Teacher of the Year Award on two separate occasions and has received other awards in the past, including the Mark B. Coventry, Melvin Post, Mid America Orthopaedic Association, Knee Society, ISOLS 2019, ICSES 2019, AAOS Achievement’s Awards, Course Director for Best Mayo Clinic Course (2017 and 2021), Digital Educator of the Year at Mayo Clinic 2021, ASES Morrey Award in 2024 and Pauwels Medal in 2024.

Len works as a shoulder surgeon, specializing in sports and soft tissue surgery. He works as part of The Arm Clinic in Wilmslow, Cheshire (UK). Most of hispractice involves complex shoulder instability, athletic injuries, AC joint injuriesand rotator cuff disease. Len routinely treats elite and professional athletes. He sees a large number of second opinion and tertiary referral patients. He is Honorary Professor at the University of Salford, where he has been clinicallead for the Postgraduate Orthopaedic Programme. He has also been involved inmany research projects, published widely and lectures internationally. Len is passionate about patient empowerment, information and education. Dr Craig Ball
Auckland, New Zealand
Dr. Craig Ball is an Orthopaedic Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon with over 20 years of
post-fellowship experience in all aspects of arthroscopic and joint reconstructive
surgery of the shoulder and elbow. Having completed his Orthopaedic training in
New Zealand, he then undertook subspecialty shoulder and elbow fellowship
training in Australia and the USA. He was a pioneer of arthroscopic shoulder
rotator cuff and instability repair techniques in New Zealand and is continually
involved in research and education both at a national and international level. His
current areas of interest include management of shoulder instability in the
collision athlete, the use of biology to improve outcomes in rotator cuff repair,
and enabling technologies in total shoulder arthroplasty, especially
intraoperative computer navigation. He is a Past-President of the NZ Shoulder
and Elbow Society and is the current Australasian representative on the
International Board of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. He is also on the Board of
the Asian Shoulder and Elbow Society and is a member of the Medical
Committee at Southern Cross Brightside Hospital. His current practice is based
at Auckland Bone and Joint Surgery at Ascot Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand.
He is married with 3 adult children, all currently living overseas.
